Hyundai Reveals Five-Door Verna

After revealing the Verna four-door sedan at the Beijing Automotive Exhibition in April, Hyundai Motor Co. has now introduced the all-new Verna five-door hatch at the Guangzhou Auto show. The company said the all-new Verna will be build by Beijing Hyundai Motor Company.
The Japanese automaker has plans to offer the all-new Verna with a choice of two state-of-the-art Gamma petrol engines. The 1.4-liter model will deliver a maximum power of 78.7kW and a maximum torque of 135.4Nm. Meanwhile, the 1.6-liter model will generate a power of 90.4kW and a maximum torque of 155Nm.
The 1.4-litre entry level model Verna is expected to achieve a fuel consumption figure of 6.5L/100 km. The company intends to begin the sale of new Verna in China beginning January 2011.
Apart from the new Verna five-door hatch, the company noted that the Beijing Hyundai Motor Co. will also build the i45 mid-sized sedan. The new sedan which will be known as Sonata in China will be introduced into the market in the first part of January 2011.

Hyundai Confirms Veloseter for Detroit Auto Show

Ahead of the Detroit Auto show, Hyundai released a teaser video of the much rumored Veloster through its YouTube channel. With this it is confirmed that the new vehicle will have the official debut at the Detroit Auto show. The new Hyundai Veloster will have a direct-injected engine and a dual-clutch transmission.
As reported by caranddriver, it is expected that the new Veloster will feature a sporty-ish small coupe in the vein of the Scion tC. It is also expected that the new vehicle will have the Japanese automaker’s corporate grille along with a blend of the designs that are seen on the new Sonata and Elantra.
